Dr. Wendy Li is the Executive Director of the Moon Economics Institute and a world-leading expert in data valuation, intangible capital, and the digital economy. She is an elected Council Member of the International Association for Research in Income and Wealth (IARIW) in 2022-2026, and the Conference Chair for the Allied Social Science Associations (ASSA) Society of Government Economists (SGE) Sessions, and the Outreach Director of SGE in the U.S. She is a member of the program committee of the 2023 IARIW-CIGI Special Conference on the valuation of data, and also serves on the Committee of Inclusiveness and Accessibility at IARIW. Her current research focuses on online platforms, the value of data, markets for data, cross-border data flow, and digital trade. Her areas of general interest are intangible capital, depreciation of intangible capital, innovation, and globalization. She is recognized by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development’s (OECD) Directorate for Science, Technology and Innovation as one of the world’s leading experts in the areas of valuation of data and online platforms. She is also recognized by the World Trade Organization (WTO) as one of the world's leading technical experts in data flows and trade. Her research has been presented at international institutions, including the European Union Intellectual Property Office, the International Monetary Fund, the OECD, the United Nations, and the WTO. She served as an Expert Advisory Board Member for a European Commission project on Economic Values of Data Flows in 2021-2022, and an Advisory Group member for the Valuing Data project conducted by the University of Cambridge and the Open Data Institute in 2019-2020. She was a research economist at the U.S. Department of Commerce from September 2008 to July 2021, when she also served as a liaison for the Committee on the Status of Women in the Economics Profession of the American Economic Association during 2019-2021. She received a B.A. in Economics from the National Taiwan University, an MBA in Finance and Marketing from the National Chengchi University, an M.S. in Engineering-Economic Systems and Operations Research (later renamed to Management Science and Engineering) from Stanford University, and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Dr. Hsinyi Huang is an expert in the broadcasting industry in Silicon Valley. She helps startups and multinational firms build hardware and software systems. She received a Bachelor of Science in Physics from National Taiwan University and a Ph.D. in Mathematical and Statistical Physics from Northeastern University. She is an avid reader of news and reports on the latest development in all areas of science and technology. In her spare time, she enjoys ice skating and supports organizations for animal rescue.

Dr. Peter Chi is a planetary and space scientist at UCLA. Peter’s research areas include science and exploration of the Moon, Mars science, and space weather. He is a Co-Investigator of NASA's Mars InSight Lander mission, the Domain Lead of a NASA-sponsored Frontier Development Lab challenge in Big Data, and the current Chair of the international ULTIMA magnetometer consortium. During 2008-2021, he was also a visiting scientist at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center. Peter received a Bachelor of Science degree from the National Taiwan University and a Ph.D. in geophysics and space physics from UCLA. In his spare time, Peter mentors college and high school students on science experiments on the Earth, the Moon, and Mars.

Dr. Jo Hsieh is a research physiologist at VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System and a project scientist at the Department of Medicine at UCLA. His current research topics include sleep mechanisms, motor control in sleep, chronic stress, and neurodegeneration. Jo got his B.S. in physics at National Taiwan University, M.S. in life science at National Tsing Hua University, and Ph.D. in physiology at UC Davis. He supports feminism by spending most of his home time on house chores. In his spare time, he likes to tackle home renovation projects.

Dr. Stephen Lihn is currently head of quant research and a trader at Atom Investors LP. Atom is an asset management firm established in 2018, a spinoff from Novus Partners, an analytics fintech firm, where Stephen has worked since 2008. Stephen is interested in quantitative finance, statistics and optimization, and machine learning. He has been involved in joint graduate research at ORFE in Princeton University since 2016. He earned a Ph.D. in physics from the University of Maryland in 1998, and a BS in physics from National Taiwan University. In his leisure time, Stephen likes to swim, practice Yoga and Tai Chi, and enjoy the beach.

Dr. Virginia Wang's expertise and experiences span areas in both astrophysics and telecommunication technology. After receiving a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of California San Diego for her research on gamma ray bursts -- the strongest and brightest explosions in the universe -- she became a professor at Claremont College and a visiting scholar at the University of California Berkeley. The rapid pace of technological innovations in Silicon Valley has motivated her to expand her portfolio of expertise. She currently holds a position at Broadcom focusing on telecommunication technologies.
